Optimal Energy‑Saving Strategy for Multi‑Compressor System: Centralized Control System (Variable‑frequency Control as Optional)

When centralized control is adopted for one CI‑VSD variable‑speed compressor together with multiple fixed‑speed compressors, the CI‑VSD unit continuously responds to fluctuations in compressed‑air network demand, while fixed‑speed compressors act as base‑load units. This ensures fixed‑speed compressors run at 100 % load, and the CI‑VSD unit never operates at full load, thus improving overall system efficiency.

Advantages of Interlock Control

  1. Reduce no‑load rate by 80 %The user sets a target pressure range, and the centralized controller maintains system pressure within this band. When pressure drops below the lower set‑point limit, the variable‑speed air‑compressor first increases rotational speed to deliver more compressed air.

  2. Cut labour costsUsers pre‑configure the operating sequence for air compressors in the centralized controller (maximum 16 sequence positions, numbered 1‑16). The control system switches units according to pre‑defined sequence conditions.

  3. Fault handlingOnce the centralized controller detects a compressor trip due to fault, it automatically searches the active operating sequence and starts the nearest standby compressor. Collective alarms and fault status of compressors are displayed in real‑time on the touch‑monitor interface.

  4. Accurate charts and data
